Lonely goes the night

Karin Krona

«After a painful breakup, a woman comes to Paris and try to restart her life. At night she walks around the city taking photographs. She thinks about the past and tries to figure out why she ended up like this, alone.»

For me, autofiction is a way of making a personal tale more universal. I do not care so much about the truth as long as what is told feels right. I believe every day has it's own special editing of the past. To tell a story, I go through my personal archives and try to make a perfect blend. I'm experimenting with new techniques to deteriorate images to hint the passing of time and I have added drawings for an even more intimate approach.

In this image essay, I deal with lost love and wounds that will not heal with time — maybe because we need them to explain who we are.
