Chinese Fast Food

Shot in Beijing’s Olympic Park in the fall of 2011, Anja Hitzenberger’s series "Chinese Fast Food" reveals a visually and viscerally overloaded fast-food culture that may make some mouths water and other bellies ache. The aggressive graphics and displays, offset by the seeming nonchalance of the stall workers, offer an insight into some of the contradictions in contemporary Chinese culture.
